Up to date product and service information is imperitive
to successfully representing your offerings to both customers
and sales people. So, quickly and easily managing all of this
data is very important. A complete sales system must be able
to manage all of a companies' offerings which are often defined
through product catalogs, services, configuration rules, and
information on the quote
The K3 Product Center offers product managers a simple way
to manage complex offerings. Through the tool, product managers
can create product catalogs with extensive attributes and
validity rules. They can also create quote structures that
are used in negotiations. These catalogs then drive the product
entry forms that are created by business users rather than
technical people. After an entry form is created, it is automatically
published to the Sales Center.
- Manage product constraints and hierarchical catalogs with
relevant attributes and validations such as allowable ranges
or lists of values available. Also, if product data is readily
available in an electronic format, it can easily be imported
into the system.
- Define product entry forms by selecting categories in
the catalog and then defining how the category attributes
will be entered. Attributes can be entered in an entry field,
drop down list, as a yes/no answer and then validated against
the rules defined.
- Generate part numbers and descriptions based on product
attributes so that orders can easily map into an existing
order entry system. Part numbers can utilize mapping tables,
attribute values, concatenated text values, and more.
- Product templates are defined to specify default entries
for a catalog category. Default values are then used to
populate the product entry forms.
